Highlights of the Conference and Target Audience
Over the course of 3 days, this digital conference will bring together stroke recovery research leaders and the clinical care community from around the world to share new research findings and the next big things in the field. Our goal is to improve the delivery of stroke rehabilitation, reduce disability, and restore lives impacted by stroke across the globe.

As a truly international and interdisciplinary conference featuring more than 55 speakers from every continent, we welcome wide participation from university- and hospital-based researchers in stroke, neurologists, physiatrists, family doctors, nurses, trainees, policy makers, and allied health professionals who work with stroke patients (physiotherapists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and psychologists).

Over the course of 3 days, clinical and research sessions will explore:

  • adaptive trial designs and efficiency in clinical trials
  • global challenges of delivering stroke rehabilitation care
  • innovative personalized rehabilitation care and personalized neurorehabilitation
  • how to best support young stroke patients and their carers
  • and much more.

A plenary session on the final day, Brag and Steal, will offer space for attendees to share successes and encourage others to draw inspiration in order to improve practice, create efficiencies, advance research, and promote recovery. Please view the complete agenda.

Take part in the Brag and Steal session at Advances in Stroke Recovery

Session Highlight: Brag and Steal

Registration continues for the Advances in Stroke Recovery – Scientific Conference, taking place virtually from January 23 – 25, 2023.

An exciting session at the conference is Brag and Steal, which will offer space for attendees to share successes (e.g. innovative stroke programs, tools, techniques, ideas) and encourage others to draw inspiration in order to improve practice, create efficiencies, advance research, and promote recovery.

Each speaker will have the opportunity to pitch their innovation to the global stroke community in 3-5 minutes with the aid of 5 slides maximum. Each talk will be followed by 5 minutes of Q & A.

To enter a submission for Brag and Steal: Please provide your name, organization/affiliation, contact email, and title and short description of your talk (what you learned and why you want to share it with others in 250 words or less) to farrell@canadianstroke.ca by November 28, 2022. Those selected to present will be notified by mid-December.

Advances in Stroke Recovery, which takes places virtually from Jan. 23 to 25, brings together stroke recovery research leaders and the clinical care community from around the world to share new research findings and discover the next big things in the field in order to advances care for people living with stroke.

A distinguished program committee has developed a two-stream program focused on clinical/applied advances and those in the research sphere. The meeting includes a dynamic poster session with oral presentations and special rates for trainees.

Among themes covered at this three-day meeting: global challenges of delivering stroke rehab care, adjunct therapies, biomarkers for precision stroke rehabilitation, the knowledge translation gap, innovative personalized rehabilitation care, young stroke & young stroke carers, and more.

2022 Stroke Program in Neurorecovery (SPiN) Online Workshop – REGISTER NOW

Registration for CPSR’s Stroke Program in Neurorecovery (SPiN) Workshop is now open!The SPiN workshop brings together young researchers from across the world to learn from expert faculty about basic science and clinical stroke research. This three-day workshop is targeted for trainees (e.g., graduate students and post-doctoral fellows) and will be an excellent opportunity to network with other trainees and faculty in the field from within and outside of Canada.
