CanStroke researchers receive $100K to study virtual program for walking, balance

CanStroke Recovery Trials researchers were recently awarded $100K in funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research to conduct a one-year pilot study of their virtual rehabilitation program for walking and balance, called TRAIL.

Debbie Tompkins took part in CPSR's FLOW trial in Halifax. A recently retired nurse, Debbie had a stroke last summer. She said the trial provided her with an additional 12 weeks of intense therapy. “It’s hard and I’m exhausted when I’m done, but it’s good,” she says.
