MEDIA ADVISORY: CANADIAN STROKE CONGRESS IN CALGARY NOV. 28-29

Experts converge in Calgary to share innovations and latest research advances

WHAT: 500 clinicians and researchers from across Canada and around the world are gathering in Calgary to discuss the latest innovations and research breakthroughs in stroke and vascular cognitive impairment. They will share findings from clinical trials, examine the potential of brain stimulation to promote recovery, probe the role of AI in stroke medicine, examine the impact of sex and gender differences, consider new insights into sleep and exercise, and more. More than 70 leading experts will speak at the Congress.

WHY: Stroke and vascular cognitive impairment (VCI) are major health issues in Canada, and leading causes of long-term disability and death. Nine out of 10 Canadian adults have at least one risk factor for stroke and VCI. Scientific evidence shared at the Congress will drive change, improve stroke management, and save lives.
